This is Crazy!

Oh my gosh God is just too good! Since I have last updated you, my new song Classics is being played on 99.5 wzpl, I have been on wish TV and my song was number 63 for the Indianapolis downloads chart! But wait the most exciting thing is yet to come...
Kelly Taylor and the Beez Kneez is opening for Hanson and Hot Chelle Rae for 99.5's Jingle Jam!!!!   Yes!! I said Hanson!
I'm sure you remember.... mid 90's, long hair, Mmbop...ring any bells?
We are playing at the egyptian room in the Murat theater on December 1st! Please come and bring yo frans!!
On a more humbling note..
Last night I played my first show while sick. Thankfully it was just a coffee shop because my voice kept getting more hoarse and more hoarse.  But no worries, I'm now drugged up, drinking hot tea, and watching parks and recreation so all is well.
With all of these music happenings I'm doing my best to keep a social life, let alone an acceptable GPA. But I'm learning that I can't do everything, the Lord is showing me a lot about trust through all of this.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in any way, coming to a show, buying a song, or even just reading this blog! I am so grateful for all of the encouragement!
Oh and by the way I got my braces off. It's no big deal.
Just kidding its like the biggest deal!!
I am so happy to have that wretched metal out of my mouth.
Except now they gave me a retainer that I have to wear during the day for a while. thats funny.

Ok well november is packed with shows so see if you can make it to one!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Sand Piles, and My One Stop Tour

My dearest loyal readers (or not loyal, i don't mind, just thank you for reading),

I hope all of you have heard by now the new song i posted about 2 months ago called fallin'. Its the one about my pile of sand.
The whole thing is one big analogy.
I think I'm so cool because I have built this big pile of sand on the beach. I'm thinking "Heck, yeah! Look what I did!" But its not until I step back and see the whole beach that I realize how petty and temporary my pile of sand is compared to the scene in it's entirety.
The warm breathtaking sun slowly turning from yellow to orange as it begins to hide behind the sea. The thin pink clouds dancing across the sky. The ocean that stretches further than I can see or comprehend. The soft sound of the waves that wash in and out on the shore. And the sand. The million tiny grains of sand that gather in one place to make a beach that goes on for miles. A gentle breeze brushes my "so called big pile of sand" away.
I finally realize then, that everything I have is a gift. I did nothing to earn or deserve this gift of music, but it was given to me. If I keep it for myself, and leave the one who gave it to me out of the picture, I will only be a part of things that are temporary and small. But if I use what I have for Him, and completely give back, I can be apart of something that is beautiful, breathtaking, and eternal. He can use me to show more people that a pile of sand will never be enough.

In Other news,
I went to Boise Idaho and played in the street market there. It was my one stop tour.
Playing in the street was.... exactly like it sounds.
Super awkward setting up and opening the guitar case hoping people will be generous.
And then..well.. just playing, no mic no amp.
To my surprise my biggest audience was toddlers, the occasional old man, and middle aged woman.
Now i'm not complaining, Ill play for any one who will stop and listen, I was thrilled that I even got a few to stop! All together it was one of the most fun experiences! I actually got to talk to people as they walked by.
People are so nice! It was incredible that complete strangers were nice enough to throw in a couple bucks or even come and start a conversation! Although some of my company may have been because i had lollipops on my table, I still consider it an accomplishment!

School has started and there are so many things that are new and exciting in regards to the music.
I will tell you one thing though, my new song classics is completely ready and you all will be hearing it very very soon!

Keep checking for updates and stop by at my show on the 17th!
Come say hi afterwards!
Hope you all have a day filled with love, laughter, and fun things!

Yours Truly,
Kelly

Lets Start With The Basics

Hey!

This is so cool.. Im a blogger!

This blog will mostly be for updating everyone while I pursue a career in music.
I should go ahead and mention now that I have a Facebook artist page, and were you to go "like" the page, I would be eternally grateful.

A few essential things you need to know..
I go to Heritage Christian

I am a religious watcher of Parks and Recreation

I'm a strong fan Indian Food, especially from the restaurant on 82nd street Taj of India

I also love snow cones but I thought that would be nasty to have these foods next to each other so I made a separate line for snow cones

I absolutely love writing and performing music

I recorded a six-song CD in January called Tell Your Friends..it's on Itunes..be a pal, check it out.

I started playing solo shows a few years ago but in the past year I've had the accompanying help of a quality group of players (Joy Bergman, Ben Cooley, James Harris, Jake Huff), bringing the full stage name to "Kelly Taylor and the Beez Kneez." It's a good time.
I just got back from Orangehaus music business camp in anderson where I recorded two new songs! One of which you can find on www.reverbnation.com/kellytaylormusic called Fallin'
The other has yet to be uploaded but I will let you know when I do.

My main goal is for as many people to hear my music as possible. I have no idea how far this will go or how the Lord is going to use my music but I'm going to keep playing, writing, and ultimately just keep going for it and I know God will do his thing.
He puts the music in me. I just put it on paper.

Ok well Im going to go get ice cream and read aloud to myself
but its been fun and keep checking for more posts!
